 RENEWALS

Books cannot be renewed if they are on hold for another patron; or have been renewed twice before; or if the patron's library record has been blocked.

 OVERDUE FINES

Patrons are expected to be responsible for keeping track of due dates and returning materials on time. Notices may be posted within 7 days of the item being overdue and a fine will be imposed. Failure to receive a notice does not exempt patrons from fines. If the item is not claimed by the new borrower, it will either be returned to the shelves or lent out to the next patrons on the waiting list.

 LOSS OR DAMAGE OF MATERIALS

Every borrower is held responsible for the condition of the items borrowed. Any loss or damage of items should be reported immediately. The library has the authority to ask for compensation in the form of a replacement of the lost or damaged materials. The borrower will be charged the cost of the item, a processing fee of RM25.00 and the accumulated overdue fines.

In cases where the price of the book cannot be determined at all, the following fines may be imposed :

 SUSPENSION OF BORROWING PRIVILEGES

A patron will be suspended from borrowing privileges if the due date exceeds 14 days. In such a case, the patron will be suspended for one month for the first record, and one semester for the subsequent record. In the event when privileges are being terminated, no circulation transactions will be extended until all fines have been paid.
